The Start

For me the main message of The Secret and Dr. DeMartini's talk was that we are the masters of our own universe. What this means is that we create the world around us with our thoughts, don't think of this as physical creations. To try explain what I mean I will use an example that I experienced.

I usually hate walking around in shopping malls, it seems that I always have to move to avoid bumping into people and I usually get impatient and give up on shopping within a half an hour or so. Being the festive season the shopping malls are the busiest, so I decided to test this concept of changing my universe. Before I entered the mall I made a conscious decision that I was going to be in a good mood, and be happy and not let anything get me down, especially not having to avoid traffic. Surprisingly enough I shopped for eight hours and did not bump into a single person, and I left the mall in a good mood.

Another example: Have you ever decided to buy a car ? I did, I wanted a Mazda 3. Now all I see on the road are Mazda 3's I hardly notice other cars. I don't believe this is because there are more on the road now, it is purely because my subconscious is recognising what I want and changing my reality.

I am busy listening to some Robert Kiyosaki audio books called Cashflow. Strangly enough he uses the same concept, but calles it something else. He describes this as context and content. Think as context as a container and content as what fills that container. If you change your context, you change your content. Mr. Kiyosaki talks alot about different types investements one can make. He also says that there are no risky investements. If you believe that investing is risky, then you will see risky invetements. But if you are able to change your context and believe that investing is not risky, then you will only see investments that are not risky.
